Paris St Germain are keen to open contract negotiations with Brazilian star Ronaldinho in order to fend off interest form a host of leading European clubs including Manchester United, Juventus and Internazionale.

Ronaldinho, had looked certain to leave the Paris giants in the summer but with Luis Fernandez confirming that he will leave in the summer, Ronaldinho may wish to stay in Paris.

Club President Laurent Perpere has confirmed that a new contract is being discussed and that Ronaldinho is more than happy to stay with the club.

“We are talking and he say’s he is happy here so we hope to come to some kind of agreement,” revealed Perpere.

Ronaldinho, who would cost in the region of œ20m, is said to only want to stay at PSG if the club qualifies for Europe.

With PSG currently 8th in the league but only 7 points off of the top, a European place is most definitely in the offing. N
