England have booked their World Cup 2010 place in South Africa after thumping Croatia 5-1 at Wembley. What price are they now to go all the way?

Former Real Madrid boss Juande Ramos has agreed to take over as coach of CSKA Moscow.

“I love new challenges. We are looking forward to helping the team realise their potential in Europe and working really hard over the next three months,” Ramos said in a statement on his personal website (www.juanderamos.com).

CSKA, who finished second in the Russian league last season, were not immediately available to confirm the appointment.

Ramos will make his debut in the dugout against Krylya Sovejov on Saturday. CSKA, fourth in the table, face Manchester United, Besiktas and Wolfsburg in Group B of the Champions League.

Ramos won back-to-back UEFA Cups with Sevilla in 2006-07 and coached Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid last season.
