Valencia coach Claudio Ranieri has revealed that Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in signing striker Mista.

Mista, who scored 19 goals in Valencia’s march to the title last season, has refused to sign a new contract at Mestalla and looks set to leave the club either in January or at the end of the season.

Ranieri wants to keep Mista, but he seems resigned to losing him.

“I am aware Liverpool have been linked with my striker Mista,” said Ranieri.

“But a number of clubs from around Europe are looking at him.”

Ex-Chelsea manager, Ranieri , has been linked his former player Scott Parker who has become a peripheral figure at Stamford Bridge.

“I know there have been rumours saying I would like to take Scott on loan at Valencia,” Ranieri continued.

“But I don’t think now is the right time to be talking about signing players.

“All I will say is that I think it is up to Scott Parker to decide his own future. Only he knows if he is happy at Chelsea and happy with the amount of time he is playing.

“Scott will know in his mind what he wants to do, if he feels he is unlucky at Chelsea he will make the right decision, I am sure.”
