Claudio Ranieri has pulled out of the running to become the next manager of Hearts.

The Italian held talks with the Edinburgh club last week about the vacacny caused by George Burley’s departure, but he has decided not pursue his interest.

“I want to thank the club, but Hearts is not the right job for me at this moment,” Ranieri told the Daily Record.

Several high profile candidates have emerged in the last week with former England coaches Sir Bobby Robson and Kevin Keegan reported to be interested in the position.

Burley left Tynecastle ten days ago after reportedly fallling out with the club’s major shareholder Vladimir Romanov.
