Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz has stated that he expects David Beckham to be a Real Madrid player next season.

The 29-year-old former Manchester United midfielder has become the subject of transfer speculation with Chelse believed to be interested in signing the England skipper. But Queiroz is confident Beckham will remain in Spain.

“I believe David Beckham will be here next season. With more experience, his maturing decisions and skill, I believe he can improve,” Queiroz told the BBC.

Beckham is also understood to have told Real president Florentino Perez he wants to stay another year to prove himself.

There has also been speculation that Queiroz himself will be forced out in the summer but the Portuguese coach insists he will be staying.

“I have a contract for one more year,” Queiroz insisted.
