Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon remains confident of signing Arjen Robben from Chelsea.

Robben has been a target for Real since Calderon pledged to sign the Dutch winger when he was campaigning to become the club’s president.

Chelsea insist Robben is going nowhere and they claim they are in talks with the Dutchman over a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Real could also find themselves in a battle with Chelsea for Lyon winger Florent Malouda.

“Malouda is a player that our (technical secretary) Miguel Angel Portugal likes a lot,” Calderon told the club’s official website.

“But we also have to consider other players that would fit in, like Robben, who has many chances of joining our team.”
