Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster is confident Arjen Robben will become a Real Madrid player next season.

However, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has stressed this week that Robben has two years remaining on his Chelsea contract and remains resistant to him leaving Stamford Bridge.

Indeed, the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, is believed to have insisted that Robben is not for sale at any price when he spoke to Real’s sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic this week.

Nonetheless, Schuster feels he will complete the signing of Robben in the near future.

“I think we’ll succeed,” he told Spanish television.

“Whether it’s in one day, or two or more, it doesn’t matter how many more days it takes.”

According to reports, Robben has already agreed personal terms with Real but the two clubs have yet to settle on a transfer fee with Chelsea claiming the player will have to request a transfer from Chelsea formally if he is to move to Spain.

Schuster has been busy assembling a new-look squad since replacing Fabio Capello earlier this month and has already signed Christoph Metzelder, Pepe and Javier Saviola.
