Real Madrid have said they are unwilling to match Arsenal’s valuation of their midfielder Jose Antonio Reye.

According to Spanish press reports Real, have offered €15-16 million for Reyes but that Arsenal were holding out for €20 million plus a player in part-exchange.

Club chairman Ramon Calderon said the club were not prepared to budge meet Arsenal’s demands.

“The ball is now in Arsenal’s court,” he saidf.

Calderon also confirmed that the priority now was to sign Lyon’s Mali international midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.

“We will be putting our efforts, under Capello’s orders, into signing Diarra,” he said.

Marca meanwhile said that Milan were about to make a move for Real’s Brazilian striker Ronaldo offering their midfielder Kaka in exchange.
