Real Madrid have been hit by the news that Uruguayan midfielder Pablo Garcia will be out of action for two months.

Garcia limped off just 26 minutes into Real’s 2-0 win at Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, and a scan on his injured knee has confirmed severe ligament damage.

Real coach Jose Ramon Lopez Caro has admitted it is a major blow to lose a player whose defensive qualities complement the array of atttacking talent at his disposal.

“This is bad news for us at such a key point in the season for Europe and the Liga,” said Caro.
