Ronaldo has stated that he is prepared to quit Internazionale if the club are not prepared to increase his salary and the winner of the World Cup Golden Boot has admitted that Real Madrid would be his preferred destination if he left Italy.

“I owe a lot to Inter, but we will have to talk three ways if Real Madrid decide to make an offer for me,” he said.

“If Real Madrid want me they have to call me,” Ronaldo told AS. “Roberto Carlos always talks to me about Real.”

Ronaldio is demanding financial parity with the club’s highest earner, fellow striker, Christian Vieri, and theBrazilian may well be using the threat of a move to Madrid as the ltimate bargaining tool in his ongoing negotiations.

Meanwhile, Brazil team-mate Roberto Carlos is keen to see Ronaldo move to the Bernabeu. “I will meet (club) president Florentino Perez and I will try to convince him that Real Madrid have to buy Ronaldo,” the defender said.
