Jose Antonio Reyes’ agent has met with Arsenal to discuss the size of the fee they would receive in any future transfer deal, according to reports in Spain.

Reyes’ representative, Jesus Rodriguez de Moya, is reported to have met Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein to discuss the fee Arsenal would accept in the event of Reyes leaving.

Reyes was the victim of a hoax telephone call from a Spanish newspaper earlier in the season in which he admitted he would love to join Real Madrid. There has been speculation in England and Spain that Reyes could join Madrid in part-exchange for Michael Owen who is thought to be unhappy at his peripheral role at the Bernabeu.

Reyes’ former manager at Sevilla, Joaquin Caparros, believes the forward will sign for Real.

“Reyes has the profile to play for Real Madrid,” he said.

“He has a lot of quality and I see him in the short term at Real Madrid.”
