Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery is set to sign a new five-year contract with the Bundesliga club ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final.
According to reports in Germany, Ribery, who is suspended for Saturday’s final, will end the speculation about his future, by penning a new deal.
Bild reports that Bayern bosses were spotted in the team hotel in the Spanish capital enjoying a drink with Ribery’s representatives.
Sport1 television understands that Ribery will make an announcement from the balcony of Munich town hall on Sunday when the team parades its silverware this season after a procession from the Allianz Arena.
Ribery’s current contract is due to expire next year, but Bayern have been keen on extending that deal to ward off interest from other clubs this summer.
Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea have all expressed an interest in the 27-year-old, who has made it clear he would like to play for a club who can realistically challenge for major honours.
