Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has dismissed reports claiming that Ronaldinho is set to quit Camp Nou.

Reports suggested that the Brazilian playmaker is ready to leave Barcelona after growing frustrated with the club’s officials.

However Rijkaard has now stated that Ronaldinho is not going anywhere.

“It doesn’t even cross my head that he will leave,” he told The Sun.

“In football people forget very quickly. He had and still has incredible value.”

Ronaldinho missed Saturday’s game with Sevilla, but Rijkaard is confident he will be back in action soon.

“He’s working hard to recover as quickly as possible and he’s got great desire to return to the team and there’s nothing behind the issue,” he added.

Chelsea and Milan are among those clubs known to be interested in Ronaldinho, but agent Roberto de Assis has moved to play down the speculation.

De Assis told radio station RMC Info: “Contact with Milan or Chelsea? You know I have relationships with a lot of people, and we talk about several different players.

“A player like my brother can attract the greatest clubs.

“Could his contractual situation help a departure? There are possibilities, but he has a very good contract.

“However, I repeat he is very well at Barcelona, he is just enduring a difficult period.

“He has a perfect relationship with coach (Frank) Rijkaard. To him the relationship with the fans is also very important, but he is very motivated to win the national title with Barca.”

“Could he leave Barca? In football everything changes so quickly.

“He has an idyllic life at Barcelona, but I can’t say he will never leave.”
