Arjen Robben would be happy to stay at Chelsea, should a move to Real Madrid fail to materialise.

The Dutch winger has been linked with a move to El Santiago Bernabeu, but Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon insists the player is going nowhere.

Robben is aware of the speculation but he claims that he is content with life at Stamford Bridge.

“I’ve known that Real Madrid have wanted me for some time, but at the moment I’m a Chelsea player,” Robben is quoted as saying in The Sun.

“We are dealing with two European institutions of the highest level that are always a force in the Champions League and for whom any player would like to sign.

“I don’t know if there has been any contact between the two clubs, and, if not, then I will be a Chelsea player for the next two seasons.”
