Robinho has been ruled out of Brazil’s second-round World Cup encounter with Ghana.

The Real Madrid forward felt some discomfort in his right thigh during Saturday’s practice in Bergisch Gladbach, and Brazil have decided to sit Robinho.

“Robinho has undergone an MRI scan on his right thigh,” confirmed the Brazilian FA’s website.

“He is out of Tuesday’s game against Ghana following physiotherapy treatment.”

However, the player is hopeful of being ready for the quarter-finals provided the defending champions make it through to the last eight.

“The problem is little,” Robinho said.

“I’ll go on treating it and, God willing, I’ll be available to play on Saturday, if the national team beats Ghana.”

With Robinho iut, Internazionale striker Adriano is expected to regain his place in the starting line-up.
