Ronaldinho’s brother and agent has hinted that the Barcelona forward would be interested in playing under Luiz Felipe Scolari at Chelsea.

On Wednesday, Chelsea announced that Scolari, currently in charge of Portugal, would takeover at Stamford Bridge on 1st July.

Ronaldinho, who is expected to leave Barcelona this summer, was a member of Scolari’s Brazilian World Cup-winning side in 2002.

“At the moment Ronaldinho is taking a complete break at home in Porte Alegre,” De Assis told The Sun.

“There are options for next season and obviously he knows Scolari very well and they have enjoyed great success together.

“We’ll see what happens but my brother will be ready for next season.”

Meanwhile, the decision to appoint Scolari has receibed the backing of several Chelsea players.

Midfielder Michael Essien said:”I can state straight away that we will contend for all titles next season,” said the midfielder.

“The new manager will push us to compete for everything. I know we will come back for the new campaign refreshed with a hunger for revenge.”

Goalkeeper Petr Cech added: “Scolari has great charisma, great experience and great results. I am looking forward to working with him.”

Full-back Paulo Ferreira, currently playing under Scolari for Portugal, also backed the appointment.

The Portugal international said: “He is a good boss and he can do a job. It will be good for the club as a whole.”
