England have recieved a boost with the news that Wayne Rooney is expected to be fit for their next two World Cup qualifiers.
Rooney, 22, injured his ankle during Manchester United’s 3-0 Champions League victory away at Aalborg on Tuesday and was stretchered off during the second half.
England host Kazakhstan on 11 October and travel to Belarus four days later.
A United spokesman told the club’s website: “Wayne has an ankle injury and is doubtful for Saturday, but he should recover in time for England’s forthcoming matches.”
