Wayne Rooney will not face disciplinary action over his alleged stamp in last week’s Champions League game against AaB.

The Manchester United striker had been accused of deliberating stamping on Aalborg’s Kasper Risgard during the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

The Danish midfielder claimed the England international should have been sent off for ‘jumping’ on his chest and leaving bruising on his body.

However, Uefa have decided no charges will be brought against Rooney after studying the incident on video.

A spokesman said: “Uefa will not open any disciplinary proceedings against Wayne Rooney.”
