Tottenham will be hoping to show better form in Europe this Thursday when they host Polish side Wisla Krakow in the UEFA Cup.

Tomas Rosicky’s agent has dismissed reports that the Arsenal midfielder’s career could come to a premature end as ‘nonsense’.

The former Borussia Dortmund playmaker has not played since January and last week, Czech Republic head coach, Petr Rada, revealed that Rosicky had suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury and suggested that his career could be in jeopardy.

However, the 27-year-old’s agent, Pavel Paska, told MF DNES: “It is nonsense. I am refusing to answer to canards.”

Rosicky had hoped to make his return to first-team action in September, but the player has confirmed a comeback this month is unlikely.

He told CTK: “My return is still going to take some time. Each treatment runs the risk of bringing complications.”

Of Rosicky’s current situation, Czech Republic boss Rada added: “His injury is not a light one but now I am only expecting him when Arsenal give him the green light to prepare with the team.

“We cannot estimate when he will return.”
