Schalke have confirmed that they want to extend the contracts of strike pair Emile Mpenza and Victor Agali.

Schalke are currently fifth in the league table and chasing European qualification.

Despite the fact the two players have scored only a combined total of 14 goals this season, the club want to keep them and avoid other clubs moving in for the pair.

Mpenza has struggled with personal problems over the course of the season, but Football Director Andreas Muller believes he is over his problems.

“His situation is not as dramatic anymore and Emile has learned to take care of his body,” Muller said.

“We would like to keep both strikers and expect them both to reach agreements soon.”
