Atalanta 2-3 Inter
Igor Budan opened the scoring for Atalanta in round three of Serie A but the home side failed to hold out in the second half with Dejan Stankovic equalising after the interval.

Substitute Alvaro Recoba made an immediate impact netting to put the Nerrazzuri ahead ten minutes from time only to be pegged back by Pazzini moments later.

With Inter heading for their third consecutive draw in the league, talisman Adriano scored to restore his goal a game average and finally convert some encouraging early season form into points for Roberto Mancini’s side.

“Even against Palermo and Chievo I was happy with the performance because we always created allot of good chances but we never managed to take them all, said Mancini.

“Tonight we did it and if we carry on like this we’ll soon be top of the table.”

Brescia 0-2 Lazio
Brescia conceded their ninth league goal of the season as they slumped to a third consecutive defeat.

Lazio forward Tommaso Rocchi opened the scoring on the half-hour, Fernando Couto put the game beyond doubt shortly after.

Rocchi was later dismissed forcing Lazio to close the game down and play out a comfortable away victory.

Cagliari 2-0 Siena
Mauro Esposito and Honduran number nine Suazo were on target propelling Cagliari into fourth in the league.

Chievo 0-0 Udinese
Chievo and Udinese played out a draw at the Marcantonio Bentegodi. The two teams were unable to separate themselves after 90 minutes and remain locked together in the league 8th and 7th respectively.

Milan 1-2 Messina
Messina continued their excellent start to the campaign with a shock away win to the champions.

The visitors came back from a goal down with strikes from Giampa and Zampagna shortly after the interval to take three points from the San Siro.

A draw and two wins from matches against Parma, Roma and Milan places the southerners an admirable third.

Milan fall five points adrift of the Bianconeri after the opening three rounds of fixtures.

Palermo 0-0 Fiorentina
Neither team could break the deadlock at the Renzo Barbera with Cristiano Lupatelli denying Corini from the spot to cap a commanding performance in the Fiorentina goal.

Parma 1-2 Bologna
The gialloblu lost at the Tardini leaving them with just a point from their opening three fixtures. Thomas Locatelli and Fabio Petruzzi established an unassailable first half lead for Bologna, Paolo Cannavaro’s goal little consolation for Parma.

Reggina 2-1 Livorno
Reggina notched their first win of the season at home to Livorno, succeeding where Milan failed earlier in the campaign. Bonazzoli and Colucci sealed the victory re-establishing the lead after Lucarelli’s goal.

Roma 2-2 Lecce
Rudi Voller”s Roma failed to overturn Lecce at the Olimpico and will be left ruing a missed Francesco Totti penalty.

Lecce we’re twice pegged back level in the capital, Valeri Bojinov on target again for the visitors taking his tally to six for the season.

The young Bulgarian leads in the scoring charts three matches into the campaign.

Sampdoria 0-3 Juventus
Juventus extent their lead in Serie A having now scored eight without reply in the opening games of the season.

Del Piero converted from the spot before being replaced by new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish international scored minutes after his introduction with Trezeguet rounding off proceedings in the 83rd minute.
