Milan striker Andrii Shevchenko has revealed his irritation by the continual speculation linking him with a move to to Chelsea.

Chelsea were reported to have launched a world record bid for the Ukrainian striker in the summer, but Milan refused to sell the player.

Shevchenko, the current European Footballer of the Year, admits he is becoming bored with the speculation.

“When there is no match, the newspapers have to write something so it is easy to talk about players with a certain value on the market,” Shevchenko told France Football.

“What annoys me the most is they talk so much about it that, in the end, people will believe there is something true and I could change my club.

“I consider myself an honest man. If, one day, I feel there isn’t much will to do it anymore, I will be the first to know it, without hiding.

“But I am much at ease at Milan.”
