South Africa coach Jomo Sono was left to rue his team’s sloppy defending which led to a heartbreaking World Cup exit for Bafana Bafana.

Sono was disappointed with some of his team’s defending, in particular the first goal when goalkeeper Arendse spilled the ball when under no pressure. The ball dropped to Raul who had the simple task of walking the ball into the open net.

“We gave away three silly goals and got punished,’ said the South Africa coach. ‘We’re going home. We played well but it happens.”

“It’s unfortunate that Paraguay beat Slovenia but that’s the name of the game,” Sono said.
