Santiago Solari looks poised to join Inter, with Real Madrid coach Vicente del Bosque omitting the Argentinian midfielder from his squad to face Terrassa in tonight’s thirdround King’s Cup clash, while negotiations with the Italian club continue.

Under the terms of the deal that saw Ronaldo move from Inter to the Bernabeu last season, the Spanish club must either pay a further €10m to make up the €45m fee or hand over Solari.

Solarii has been informed that he is surplus to requirements and his agent is believed to have opened talks with represenatives from Inter with a view to a deal being agreed in the nextfew days.

‘I just hope everything is sorted out soon,’ Real coach Vicente del Bosque stated.

‘Solari has been an exemplary figure in both personal and sporting terms but the club have their own interests and they must be respected as well.

‘With all respect to Santi, I don’t believe that the squad will be weakened without him.’
