France Football magazine has published its annual list of the best paid players and coaches in world football.

France Football magazine have published their annual rich list, containing the 20 best paid players and coaches in world football.

Top of the list with €41m and €39.5m respectively are arch rivals Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

In third comes Brazilian prodigy Neymar, who can probably expect his income to soar this year on the back of the World Cup being staged in is homeland.

In total, there are 7 players from the Premier League, four each from the Bundesliga, La Liga and La Ligue and one, Juventus’ Gianluigi Buffon, from Serie A.

The salaries include wages and sponsorship deals.

The top 20 best paid players:

  • 10. Franck Ribery – €16.5m

  • 14. Bastian Schweinsteiger – €14.5m

The magazine also named the top 20 best paid coaches in world football and unsurprisingly, the best paid manager in world football is Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho.

It is the 10th time in the last 11 seasons that the Portuguese has topped the list.

Next comes Pep Guardiola, followed by Galatasaray coach Roberto Mancini, who is not only the highest paid manager in Turkey, but on €14m a year, must also be one of the highest paid people in the country in any profession.

All, bar Russia coach Fabio Capello, who earns a whopping €13.5m to coach Russia, manage club sides.

In contrast to the rich list of players, only three are currently managing Premier League clubs, and one of those, Manchester United’s David Moyes (salary €6.4m), won’t be there for much longer.
