Germany manager Joachim Low has included a couple of surprise selections in Dennis Aogo and Holger Badstuber in his provisional squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Hamburg defender Aogo and Bayern Munich’s Badstuber were named in the 27-man squad.

Low also picked Bayern Munich veteran Hans-Jorg Butt among the three goalkeepers who are all in contention to become the new No.1 after Rene Adler had to withdraw through injury.

Germany will compete in Group D alongside Australia, Serbia and Ghana.
