Poland coach Zbigniew Boniek has included Piotr Swierczewski and Emmanuel Olisadebe in his squad to play a friendly against Denmark next week despite neither playing regularly for their clubs this season.

“I’ve spoken to Olisadebe and he said he can’t wait to play,” Boniek said.

“We will see about his form. Swierczewski plays for Marseille again even though these are not full-time (90 minute) appearances. He is an ambitious player nevertheless.”

Boniek included a number of new faces, including Besiktas’s Roman Dabrowski, Wisla Krakow’s Marcin Kuzba and Gornik Zabrze’s Andrzej Niedzielan.

“I always call on new players to make it possible for them to show if they are capable of playing for Poland, but the team’s core remains the same,” Boniek said.
