Henk Ten Cate looks set to snub Chelsea after telling a press conference in Holland that he wants to stay with Ajax.
Recent reports in Holland had suggested that Ten Cate has agreed on a switch to Stamford Bridge, in a move that would see him assist current manager Avram Grant.
Ten Cate’s agent Sigi Lens confirmed on Friday morning that his client had agreed to join Chelsea, but the Ajax boss appears to have undergone a u-turn.
“I want to be champions with Ajax,” he told a press conference.
“But not every story that does the rounds is true. I am coach at Ajax and my position is not up for discussion as far as I know.
“Last year I came to Amsterdam because becoming champion with Ajax is my great dream.”
