Carlo Ancelotti has given his clearest indication he would not want to see John Terry sold to Manchester City after naming the Chelsea captain as among the ‘very important’ members of his squad.
The former Milan boss has already labelled Terry, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole as lynchpins of his Chelsea team.
Terry, though, is rumoured to be considering his future at Stamford Bridge as reports suggest City are preparing to table a £35million offer for the England skipper after already seeing two bids turned down by Chelsea
However, Ancelotti is well aware that Terry is a vital member of Chelsea’s spine as summer arrivals Ross Turnbull, Daniel Sturridge and Yuri Zhirkov settled into their fresh surroundings.
When asked how Turnbull, Sturridge and Zhirkov were settling in, the Chelsea boss told Chelsea’s official website: “Yes, no problem. They work very well. They have a good relationship between the players, a very good team spirit.
“There are some players that are important for this team, Terry, Lampard Cole, very important.”
