Fiorentina striker Luca Toni has denied reports claiming he is about to join Barcelona.
“Me to Barcelona? This news has no substance, there has never been a request and I’ve not spoken with anyone,” said Toni.
“This news is based on statements I’ve not said. I just said, responding to a question, I consider Ronaldinho the world’s best player. Nothing else.
“2005 has been fantastic, starting in Palermo and continuing in Florence, before going on to play for the Azzurri,” he added.
“It has been the best year of my career, but now I must look forward to 2006.”
