Fernando Torres has agreed a new deal with Atletico Madrid which will keep him at the club until 2008.
The 19-year Spanish international was delighted at signing the new deal.
“I wanted to be here and the club wanted me to continue,” said Torres.
“The project that they presented me is a project that needs creating, and that was the motive for signing.
“If this isn’t the happiest moment of my life it is one of the happiest because my dream was to carry on at Atletico and I hope that these four years are just the first of many more.
“We have always agreed on things more or less, everything was in the hands of my agents and everything worked out well in very little time.
“It’s a dream, and what I wanted.”
