Bolton have been to Upton Park to face West Ham seven times since the Premier League started – and only won once!

Tottenham Hotspur have dismissed reports claiming Mark Hughes has been approached about the possibility of replacing Juande Ramos as manager.

According to a report in The Sun, Spurs officials were alleged to have contacted Hughes’ advisors regarding an offer to take over at White Hart Lane.

But the north London club have issued a statement denying the rumours and have insisted that no offer has been made to former Wales coach Hughes.

“The club largely refrains from making statements of this nature unless absolutely necessary in order to set the record straight in light of wholly inaccurate reporting,” read the statement on the club’s official website.

“An article on the back page of this morning’s Sun newspaper reports that the club has made an offer to Mark Hughes to take over as manager during the forthcoming international break.

“This story is completely untrue and without foundation and the matter is being discussed with the publication.”

Speculation has been mounting regarding Ramos’ future in North London following Spurs’ disappointing start to the season.

Spurs are bottom of the Premier League table after failing to win in their opening six games.
