Roma forward Francesco Totti has been named in Italy’s squad to face Finland in Saturday’s EURO 2004 qualifier, but there was no place for Alessandro Del Piero, who has recently returned from injury.

Totti has missed Italy’s previous three qualifiers due to a succession of injuries, but looks close to full fitness again and is expected to start up front alongside Serie A’s top scorer, Inter striker Christian Vieri.

However, Del Piero, who has just returned from a thigh injury, was not named in the squad and Milan’s Filippo Inzaghi, who scored the winning goal against Juve on Saturday was conspicuous absentee.

Coach Giovanni Trapattoni intorduced no new names but strikers Fabrizio Miccoli and Bernardo Corradi, who made their debuts in the recent friendly against Portugal, were both included in the squad again, while Lazio midfielder Stefano Fiore is rewarded for his recent good form, with a recall to the side.
