Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has make a dig Sir Alex Ferguson after Francesco Totti’s scored twice against Udinese.

Manchester United will meet the Italian side in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in early April, and after the draw the United manager named Daniele de Rossi and Alessandro Mancini as ‘great players’ for the Italians, but did not mention their captain Totti.

Roma coach Spalletti was quick to remind Ferguson of the striker following his brace against Udinese.

Spalletti quipped: “Now Ferguson will also be aware of him in Manchester!”

Totti’s strikes kept him at the top of the Serie A scoring charts for the season.

“Francesco is living in a moment in which he does everything,” added Spalletti. “He also scored with his head.

“The penalty? Francesco always scores those that count.”
