Senegal are considering making a move for Giovanni Trapattoni as they contemplate appointing a new manager.

The West African nation, quarter-finalists at the 2002 World Cup finals, are considering naming replacing the current management team Amara Traore and Abdoulaye Sarr.

Trapattoni has been out of work since being sacked by Stuttgart in February.

Senegalese Football Federation president Mbaye Ndoye has admitted Trapattoni is among their list of targets if the current duo are relieved of their duties.

“They worked in a good way in the Africa Cup, but results haven’t been equal to expectations,” said Ndoye.

“We are evaluating a few foreigner solutions for the future, and among the names there is also Trapattoni’s one.

“He doesn’t know African football, but this is isn’t a major problem.”
