The Premier League title race has been thrown wide open with Arsenal beating Chelsea, while Man Utd got back on track with a win over Man City.

Wesley Sneijder, Pepe and Miguel Torres have joined Real Madrid’s growing injury list after scans on Monday confirmed a series of muscle problems.

Portugal centre back Pepe will be out for up to four weeks, full back Torres for three weeks and Dutch midfielder Sneijder for two weeks, the Spanish champions confirmed on their website.

All three will miss Real’s last Champions League Group H match at home to Zenit St Petersburg on December 10, while Pepe and Torres will miss the ‘clasico’ against Barcelona at the Nou Camp on December 14. Sneijder is doubtful for this game.

Real have already lost striker Ruud van Nistelrooy for the rest of the season, while Gonzalo Higuain, midfielders Arjen Robben, Mahamadou Diarra and Ruben de la Red, and defenders Fabio Cannavaro and Gabriel Heinze also missed Saturday’s game.

Real slipped down to fourth in the standings, six behind leaders Barca, after the 3-1 defeat at Getafe.
