Two more players joined the 100-cap club in the rash of midweek internationals.

World Cup midfielder Alex Aguinaga became the first Ecuadorian player to reach the milestone when the 34-year-old lined up against Costa Rica.

Aguinaga made his professional debut at 16 with Deportivo Quito and spent several seasons in Mexico in Necaxa before he returning home. He made his national teamdebut against Colombia in 1989.

In Europe, playmaker Andreas Herzog became the first Austrian to hit three figures in the 1-0 home defeat by Norway in a friendly.

Previous Austrian record was Toni Polster’s 95 internationals appearances between 1982 and 2001.

Herzog made his Austria debut in 1988. Polster remains Austria’s record national team marksmen, however, with 44 goals.
