Manchester United could set to bring back central defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand for Wednesday’s Champions semi-final second leg against Milan.

The defensive duo missed the last week’s 3-2 victory at Old Trafford because of injuries, but both have travelled to Italy for the return leg.

Vidic has been out since the end of March with a broken collarbone, while Ferdinand has been carrying a groin injury for several weeks.

But Ferguson insists he will not take any risks, although with Patrice Evra suspended he may be forced to play one of them.

“It is too early to say whether they will play,” the United boss said. “They will travel and we will assess the situation after training tonight.”

Meanwhile, striker Louis Saha, who has been struggling with hamstring problems in recent weeks, could make the bench.
