Valencia are thought to be interested in signing Standard Liege’s Milan Jovanovic after reported interest from Aston Villa.

Scouts from the Spanish club have reportedly been watching the 28-year-old for some time and speculation in Spain claims that the club are prepared to do a deal in January that would see Jovanovic arrive at the Mestalla for the start of the 2010-11 season.

Valencia vice-president Fernando Gomez has been quoted as saying that Jovanovic is ‘a player we are very interested in’ while the player himself is open to the idea of a move.

“If interest appears it is normal to study the offer and evaluate all the questions because I want to improve my career,” he said.
