Valencia are reportedly keen on signing Liverpool’s Spanish goalkeeper Jose Reina.
Although current Valencia keeper Santiago Canizares has just agreed a new two-year deal, the Che are keen to secure a long-term replacement for the 36-year-old.
According to Wednesday’s edition of The Sun coach Quique Sanchez Flores sees the 24-year-old Reina as the man to replace Canizares.
Reina joined Liverpool for £6m from Villarreal after starting his career at Barcelona.
However, any move for Reina is likely to prove difficult as the keeper is under contract at Anfield until 2009 and Benitez is ready to offer him an extended deal to keep him at the club.
