Valencia have confirmed that they have no intention of selling David Villa and David Silva at the club.

The duo have consistently been linked with moves away from Mestalla as Valencia look to reduce their current debt.

“That is our priority,” he told radio station Cadena Sar.

“We have officially communicated to their representatives that this is our desire.

“Our intention is to ensure that they stay. I think next week we will be able to talk about this in more detail.”

Reports had suggested that the Primera Liga side would be willing to sell one, or both, of their international stars in order to help balance the books.

Valencia’s failure to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season was also expected to increase the pressure on the club to sell.
