Valencia president Juan Soler is admanat that the likes of David Villa and David Silva will stay at the club.

A number of Europe’s leading clubs of top clubs have been linked with Villa, while midfielder Silva’s performances this season have earned him a growing band of admirers.

But Soler says that the only way either player will depart the Mestalla is if release clauses in their contracts are triggered.

“We have no intention of selling any player, we are a buying club not a selling one,” Soler said.

“If somebody turns up who will pay the clause, we cannot avoid it.”

Chelsea and Liverpool are both thought to be keen to land 25-year-old striker Villa, although neither have made an offer.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Silva could be set for a contract extension at Valencia over the summer.

“We will not do anything (contract-wise) until the end of the season,” he added.

“A contract until 2011, and one with a clause of €60million (£40million), leaves you calm.”
