Outgoing Bayern Munich manager Louis van Gaal has dismissed reports claiming he will join Juventus in the summer.

It has already been confirmed that the Dutchman will leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, and reports in Germany have suggested that Van Gaal’s wife, Truus, was recently heard discussing a move to Italy.

But Van Gaal has rubbished the rumours and claimed he will take time off from management when he leaves Bayern.

He said: “These are the sort of sounds you hear in a toilet.”

Van Gaal added: “My wife is the last person in the world to talk like this, because she knows I’m taking a sabbatical. I promised her I will do it.”

Meanwhile, Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has hinted that no decision has been made regarding the future of current manager, Luigi Del Neri, following a disappointing domestic and European campaign.

“Del Neri has a contract and he’s done his work as best he can up until now,” said Marotta.

“There have been a lot of difficulties and misfortune, but evaluations will need to be made with him further down the line.

“We have started a project together, but I don’t think he is to blame for the league position we find ourselves in.”
