A Christian Vieri goal four minutes into injury-time secured a valuable point for Inter in their top of the table clash with Juventus.

Inter, who went into the match with a 100% Serie A record this season, seemed destined for defeat when Alessandro Del Piero scored from the penalty spot after Inter defender Francesco Coco was judged to have brought down Mauro Camoranesi with just two minutes remaining.

But in an ill-tempered finale – in which referee Pierluigi Collina sent off Juventus’s Antonio Conte and Inter’s Domenico Morfeo for brawling – ended with a corner being converted by Vieri four minutes into stoppage time.

The draw leaves Inter three points ahead of second-placed AC Milan at the top of Serie A with reigning champions Juventus third on nine points.

Elsewhere, Roma’s revival continued with a 3-1 win over Empoli. Goals from Emerson, Candela and Tomassi in a 3-1 win over the newly-promoted side for whom, Antonio Di Natale scored a consolation.
