Another goal for Christian Vieri on Sunday night moved him six points clear at the top of the ESM Golden Shoe standings.

The Internazionale forward opened the scoring in his side’s 3-3 draw with Roma and has now scored 24 goals in Serie A this season. He now stands on 46 points in the standing, four clear of Southampton’s James Beattie, who scored his 21st goal of the season against West Ham United. Lying in third is Deportivo La Coruna’s Roy Makaay who has been on target 20 tinmes this season.

The big mover was Ruud van Nistelrooij, who followed his hat-trick in Manchester United last match with two penalties against Liverpool. The Dutch international striker is joined on 34 points by Pauleta of Bordeaux, who also has 17 league goals to his name.
