Former German national team coach Rudi Voller has insisted that he has no intention of replacing his ex international team mate Klaus Augenthalur – who was sacked from the position last week – as the next Bayer Leverkusen coach.

Voller, currently the club’s Director of Football, took temporary charge of the team on the weekend as they beat MSV Duisburg 3-1, said that Wednesday’s match against Cologne will be his last as caretaker coach.

At a news conference on Tuesday, the ex-Roma striker declared: “We have a new candidate in mind for the post of coach. We want someone with new ideas”

This ‘new candidate’ is rumored to be Matthius Sammer, who was relieved of his duties at Stuttgart at the end of last season.
