Former Germany coach Rudi Voller is ready to take over at Roma following the resignation of Cesare Prandelli, he said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters after landing at Rome’s Fiumicino airport, Voeller said he was “ready to immediately start work to oversee the first training session of the giallorossa”.

“There are still a few aspects that need to be defined but they will be sorted out today,” he added.

Prandelli stepped down earlier this month due to his wife’s ill health,

Voeller resigned as Germany coach after a disappointing Euro 2004.
