Lecce sports director Guido Angelozzi expects Roma to officially take full ownership of Mirko Vucinic in the summer.

The 24-year-old Montenegro forward is currently co-owned by Lecce and Roma, but his efforts at the Stadio Olimpico are expected to earn a permanent deal with the capital club.

“I hope that Vucinic plays for Roma next season,” said Angelozzi.

“We have very warm relations with the Giallorossi, as you can see from the dealings we have had over the last few months.

“At the moment there are no meetings scheduled because the right time will come in May. We are currently busy with the race for promotion from Serie B and Roma are fighting on all fronts in Italy and in Europe.

“It’s not the time to be discussing the market. However, I will say that Roma are favourites for Vucinic, even if lots of big teams are interested.

“We won’t be talking about exchange deals or Roma’s youth players coming here to replace him as that doesn’t pay respect to his position as one of the best players in the world.”
