Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he expects to enter the transfer market when the transfer window opens in January.

Wenger refused to reveal his target, although cover at the back would appear to ber a priority.

”We’ll be looking for one player, not more,” admitted Wenger.

‘You will see. We look every week, everywhere. We might bring in two players maximum.

”We need to keep stability in our squad and I am a strong believer in the quality of our team.

”Even if at this moment it’s not fashionable, I have a great belief in this team.

”We have the right number of quality players and the strength of character to be successful this season.”

There had been speculation that Wener may be poised to sign Adrian Mutu, recently sacked by Chelsea for failing a drugs test, but the Arsenal boss denied the rumour.

”I must tell you something, I have never said that,” revealed Wenger.

”We have a big enough squad and good enough players at the moment not to be interested.

”We are not looking for anyone upfront at the moment. We have the number at the moment to be successful.”
