Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that three of his England contingent will almost certainly missthe Euro qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Turkey.

England coach Sven Goran Eriksson will be dismayed to learn that David Seaman, Ashley Cole and Sol Campbell are doubtful for the matches, especially as Campbell may well figure for Arsenal in their Champions League tie with Vallencia tonight.

“David has a small chance of playing against Everton at the weekend, but personally I think he will be short for both Everton and Chelsea as well,” said Wenger.

“If he doesn’t play in either of those games then he will be out of the England games as well – I can’t see him playing for the national team without having played for Arsenal.

“I have not spoken to Sven but the only thing I can say to him is that the situation looks bad. “Ashley is definitely out and the situation for David and Sol doesn’t look very good.

“At the moment we are pushing Sol a little bit to play and I cannot see how he can cope with the number of games in a short space of time.”
